Buladean School is located in the western corner of the state, directly under Roan Mountain, TN. We can look out our back door and enjoy the beautiful view of "The Roan."
We are a small rural school consisting of grades K-8. Our enrollment for the 2005-2006 school year was 105 students. Our average class size is 13 students! Smaller class size has wonderful benefits for student and teacher.
We have various "specials" that come in throughout the week. Spanish on Mondays, Music on Tuesdays and Media classes on Thursdays and Fridays. Our Guidance Counselor is on campus on alternating Mondays, every Tuesday and Wednesday. We have an Art teacher that comes in from Asheville Art Museum, Asheville NC. We also get the privilege to have some classes from our wonderful, local artists through Toe River Arts Council (TRAC). Different classes each year get to go to Penland School and experience their campus and see the various crafts and artist that are there.
7th & 8th graders may participate in Buladean Braves Basketball and Cheerleading teams. Students may also participate in Football, Softball and Baseball with Tipton Hill and Bowman Middle School at Bowman Middle in Bakersville, NC; transportation is provided.
Noted accomplishments include:
North Carolina School of Distinction, SACS Accreditation; Exemplary Academic Growth, Most Improved School and NC Top 25 School.
