Welcome
Located in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina, Deyton Elementary is one of the eight public schools serving students in Mitchell County. Deyton Elementary serves approximatly 300 students in grades 3 - 5. A highly qualified and caring faculty and staff seek to develop well-rounded students in all core academic areas, including art, computers, literature, music, spanish and physical education.
Our mission is to educate our students to prepare them for life in the information age. We will provide students with educational experiences that insure mastery of academic and life skills, including setting goals and solving problems. Our students will be empowered to become independent life-long learners and responsible citizens in a rapidly changing society."
