HOSA Distribute Winter Coats
On December 13, 2016, four HOSA officers, Megan Duncan; President, Carrington Boone; Secretary, Graci Pittman; Secretary, and Kaeleigh Buchanan; Chairmen along with advisor Linda Pitman traveled to Deyton
Elementary to meet with Ronda Franklin, Mitchell County's 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year to distribute winter coats.
This Coat drive was a project for HOSA Week at Mitchell High School. Several recipients were allowed to choose the coat of their choice. This was a great experience for all officers. Carrington Boone stated, “This experience has opened my eyes to the need of children in our county. I did not realize the need was so close to home; I hope to help more children in the future.” Megan Duncan, President
and organizer of this event also had some heart-warming words, “The look on the children's face when they picked the coat they wanted, the way their eyes lit up, and the way they smiled so wide was truly remarkable.” Graci Pitman said, “ It was a blessing to be able to have the opportunity to see how grateful these children were; it was definitely a humbling activity.” HOSA wants to be more involved with the community and activities that take place within it. Kaeleigh Buchanan, Chairmen of the HOSA Club, stated, “Being a part of this Coat Drive has been a step forward in HOSA helping the community. Taking the coats was such an eye-opening experience. I cannot wait to see what else we do and the other lives we touch, to God be the Glory.”
The officers along with Mrs.Pitman plan to do more with the community and school. If you have any questions, ideas or kind regards, you may reach Advisor, Mrs. Linda Pitman at email@example.com, or President, Megan Duncan at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope the children use and love the coats, and everyone has a Merry Christmas!
