Mitchell County Schools is a public school system nestled in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina. We have eight schools in our system: one high school, two middle schools, four elementary schools and one primary school. We currently serve 2200 students grades Kindergarten through 12. Our system is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
The mission of Mitchell County Schools is:
Ø To provide a safe and nurturing environment, where students develop positive self-concepts, empathy, respect, and problem-solving/critical thinking skills.
Ø To inspire students to produce quality performances and products by incorporating basic skills, technology, and the arts, thus empowering students to contribute positively within our global society.
