Our BBQ with Mitchell County Schools retired staff was so much fun last year, we are doing it again! If you retired from Mitchell County Schools from any role, please join us on Wednesday, August 13 at 5:00pm for a BBQ!

We don't have current contact information for all retired staff and don't want to leave anyone out, so we are just depending on social media and word-of-mouth to share the invitation.

📣 New Remote Learning Plan Approved! Here’s What Families Need to Know 📣

Mitchell County Schools has adopted a new Emergency Remote Learning Plan for the 25-26 school year! 🎉 With this new plan, all K–13 students will now take their devices home in the event of school closures due to weather, emergencies, or other events. The full Remote Learning Plan can be found on the Mitchell County Schools' website under Departments > Technology.

💻 To support this initiative, a non-refundable $20 User Fee will now apply to ALL students in grades K–13 beginning this school year.
✔️ This fee covers one accidental incident per year
✔️ K-8 devices will NOT be sent home daily but only in preparation for remote learning instruction
✔️ 9-13 devices will continue to go home on a daily basis as usual
✔️ Families needing support can contact their school for assistance
✔️ A limited number of hotspots are available for those needing assistance with connectivity

Your child’s access to learning—no matter where they are—is our priority. Stay tuned for more info coming home soon, and thank you for partnering with us!

📲 Don’t forget to:
✅ Download the Mitchell County Schools App
✅ Follow us here on Facebook and on Instagram
✅ Make sure your phone number and email always stay up to date in the school's student information system

💛 **Supporting Baby Ophelia & the Olson Family** 💛 Our school community is heartbroken to share that Mrs. Morgan Olson, one of our beloved teachers, recently received the devastating news that her newborn daughter, Ophelia, has been diagnosed with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (ATRT)— a rare and aggressive cancer affecting the central nervous system. Ophelia and the Olson family have a long and difficult journey ahead of them. In a show of love and support, students and staff will be wearing gold ribbons this Friday to honor Ophelia and raise awareness for pediatric cancer. 💛 We are also collecting donations to help support the Olson family during this incredibly challenging time. Every gift — big or small — will help ease the burden and show the Olsons they’re not alone. Donations will be collected on Friday. ✨ Let’s come together as a community to lift up one of our own with love, strength, and support. Please keep Morgan, baby Ophelia, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
