Spring Pictures are rescheduled for this coming Wednesday, March 26th

Congratulations to Ms. Christen Bagwell, a second grade teacher at Gouge Primary, on being named the 2025 NC AG in the Classroom Teacher of the Year! Ms. Bagwell embodies the essence of agricultural education by fostering students’ appreciation for this essential industry and equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary for future success, especially in agriculture, which is native to Mitchell County. Through hands on experiences, innovative teaching methodologies, and community engagement involving local beekeepers, Christmas tree farmers, and animal farmers, Ms. Bagwell has cultivated a classroom environment where students thrive academically and develop a profound respect for agriculture’s role in our daily lives.
Beyond the classroom, Ms. Bagwell is an invaluable asset to our school and community. Her leadership in 4-H and AG competitions has provided students with opportunities to engage in meaningful projects, competitions, and real-world experiences. Her advocacy for agriculture extends beyond the school walls, fostering partnerships with local farmers, businesses, and organizations to enhance students’ learning and career pathways.
Ms. Bagwell’s commitment to excellence is evident in their ability to inspire students, collaborate with colleagues, and continuously seek professional growth. Her dedication to preparing students for both higher education and the workforce ensures that the next generation understands the importance of agriculture in sustaining our communities and economy.

Tomorrow is Spring and Class Picture Day at Gouge! If there is a delay due to the weather, we will still have pictures! We will also celebrate "Rock Your Socks Day" for World Down Syndrome Day! Students who want to participate, please wear your crazy socks first thing, and then you can change for picture day!

Thank you to everyone who came to Kindergarten Registration tonight!

During CTE month in February, Gouge Primary and Greenlee Primary competed in the CTE Career Poster Contest. Students were tasked with drawing the Career they aspire to pursue when they grow up. Career Exploration at a young age is very important in beginning the crucial conversations and exposure to all kinds of careers available to students in their future. Mitchell County CTE would like to congratulate the following students on their hard work and creativity on this contest.
